How To: Make The Half Double Crochet Two Together

How To: Make The Half Double Crochet Two Together Pin

Are you looking for a beautiful texture stitch that gives you a puffy fabric? Then look no further than the half double crochet two together!

Once you get going, this stitch works up quick and it’s amazingly easy to do.

What’s the Stitch

The name is pretty self-explanatory, it’s a half double two together, sometimes spelt 2together. The abbreviation for this stitch is: hdc2tog

You will be working in two stitches at the same time for every stitch. However, you will only have one top stich. That makes it so you don’t end up making a bunch increases.

This stitch gives you thick puff like stitch and has a light chevron shape that reminds me of a herringbone stitch. It is reversable, and best of all its a one row repeat!

Uses

I think this stitch would be great for baby blankets, any type of blanket really. But I would definitely use it for scarves, shawls and hats since it has an airiness about it. If  I used cotton I would definitely use the half double two together to make a trivet. It has enough thickness to it that I would trust the fabric not to squish down too much.

That’s enough blabbing, let’s get to the tutorial!
