The Trials and Tribulations of Swatching

This is just a small 3-ring binder that I picked up at the dollar store.

Starting a swatch book. This is a task not to be taken lightly. It is an ever growing quest with much time and toil involved for the start and the continuous inlargment thereof…

Okay, so it’s not that bad, but it will take a while for the start up and the ongoing growing of the art stash… It’s also extremely useful, which is ultimately why you do it.

I started off with my prismacolor colored pencils.

I actually had more colors than I thought I did. I put not only the name of the pencil, but the number as well since they don’t change the numbers.

I have a few duplicates, but primarily a good grouping.

I started on Sunday evening and here I am on Friday still finding things to swatch!

It’s not exactly because I have a lot of art supplies, it’s actually because I’m still building my stash on certain items, like my bombay india inks..

I’ve been getting them one at a time as they’ve been on sale or with a coupon at hobby lobby…So, I really thought I had more.

However, this is the exactly why I wanted to make one.

I want a way of knowing exactly what I have when I’m out, or looking for something.

More pictures will be coming as I do more swatches. I know I would have liked seeing what products could do and how they could be used before I bought them. So, hopefully this will be something that’s useful to you guys as well.
